Waterfront Renovation, Herne Bay
Reimagining a long-established waterfront garden called for a careful balance between preserving its existing charm and introducing new elements to enhance its beauty and functionality.
The first step was simplifying the plant palette, allowing key features to shine while creating a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic. Extending and accentuating the established agave became a focal point, adding visual interest and architectural appeal to the landscape.
Introducing a Mediterranean mix of plants such as Italian cypress, thuja, rosemary, and citrus garden injected new life into the garden, infusing it with the vibrant colors and fragrances of the Mediterranean region. These additions seamlessly blended with the subtropical mix of established palms and bird of paradise, creating a captivating fusion of styles that reflected the waterfront setting.
The result is a reimagined waterfront garden that retains its original charm while embracing a fresh, Mediterranean-inspired look. This harmonious blend of plantings not only enhances the beauty of the landscape but also creates a tranquil and inviting outdoor space for relaxation and enjoyment.
